What was your favorite age growing up?
I really liked 17, you’re almost an adult, but you’re not taking on the responsibility of being an adult yet. I was a senior in high school.
What is something you are absolutely determined to achieve in life?
I do not know if there is one thing I want to achieve, but I just want whatever life I am in, I just want to be a good friend and someone that people go to. The kind of person that when people think of me, oh Lauren, she was always there for me and was always super supportive. It is not a material accomplishment that I want to achieve. I just want to look back on life and know I was there for people and lived in the present moment.
What is the scariest thing you've ever done and why did you do it?
I do not know if I have done anything super scary, but moving here was one of the hardest things I have ever done. I did it because I knew it would also be equally rewarding and it has been really cool to see how much I have grown, but it was hard because all of my family is 10+ hours away and I did not know anyone here. Even in just 6 months of living here, I have made a lot of friends, but it was really hard at first.
What do you value most in a friend or partner?
Loyalty, trustworthiness, honesty, and just being genuinely themselves and not trying to be someone they are not to try to impress me. Just being who they are.
What is a skill you would like to learn?
In my job we do a lot of disaster responses. For example, there was an earthquake in Turkey today. So we are sending people out for that. I was just talking to my coworkers and in a couple of weeks i will be staffing the response team. I am excited to learn how to do that and just continue learning new skills at my job.
